How Long Does it Take to Get Divorced?

This is undoubtedly one of the questions we are asked most regularly at Quickie Divorce and, whilst we do, on average, conclude divorces in just 12 weeks, there are a number of factors that can affect this timeframe. One such example is the court that handles your divorce (don’t worry, we’ll help you find one that’s efficient and not bogged down in work) as their workloads can vary greatly. Another is the speed with which your spouse returns a form called a D10 (a very simple form that your husband/wife needs to complete in order to show that they agree to the divorce) to the court. There are also changing circumstances which can lead to it becoming necessary for an applicant to delay proceedings whilst they deal with other, more-pressing matters. Whilst it is entirely understandable that people want their divorces finalised as quickly as possible – and Quickie Divorce will, of course, ensure that this happens – there are times when it is better to remain patient and remember that, however frustrating a delay may be, your divorce will still be finalised in time.
