Anyone that has ever needed to complete legal documents – whether they were selling their home or doing a DIY divorce – will be able to tell you it is both a laborious and time-consuming task and it would appear that Russell Brand is no different. The comedian, 37, currently in the process of finalising his divorce from pop-star wife Katy Perry, recently claimed during a television interview that he has found his difference experience to be difficult because of all the paperwork that is involved. Now, we at Quickie Divorce are fully aware of the fact that Brand was being facetious, but we also know all too well that the emotional turmoil that a divorce so often brings is often exacerbated when an individual tries to complete a divorce petition, a statement of arrangements for children or any of the other forms required to finalise a divorce unassisted. Each of these forms is littered with legalistic phrases that, to a layperson are at best confusing and, at their very worst, almost cryptic. Just imagine trying to complete these forms whilst also tackling the emotional strain brought about by a divorce; it’s more than enough to turn what is already an unpleasant situation into a truly unbearable one.
