If both you and your spouse agree to a divorce then you can not only obtain one quickly and cheaply, but it is also extremely unlikely that you will be required to attend court. The reason for this is extremely simple: as both parties agree that the divorce should proceed, neither side need to present their arguments to a judge and, of course, a judge will not need to consider these arguments. As the only thing that a judge will need to determine is whether or not appropriate grounds for the divorce exist, all of which is argued within a divorce petition submitted by the Petitioner, the entire divorce can be dealt with remotely and neither spouse will need to attend the court in 99.99 per cent of all uncontested applications. Parties may occasionally be asked to visit the court even when their divorces are uncontested but this will only be if the courts suspect that either party has been dishonest.
